Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking to hire an Assembler III in Lynnwood, WA.

As an Assembler III, you will be responsible for applying extensive knowledge and skill in the assembly and processing field applicable to ELDEC products. Work situations will typically be varied and require adapting existing or devising new techniques, methods and procedures. Perform proficiently and independently in the more complex operations in their designated area of assignment. Apply practical knowledge of assembly and processing characteristics to resolve unusual problems and to contribute suggestions for improvements. Requires coordination with manufacturing and design engineers and technicians, as authorized and required Work is normally performed under general and infrequent supervision and in accordance with generally known procedures, practices and operating plans, but with considerable judgment and interpretation required in application. Work is typically checked by review of end results as opposed to in-progress checks, except in proving-out stages. Failure to perform thoroughly and accurately could result in significant time loss, scrap parts and schedule delay.


  • Must have microscope experience.

  • Interpret and work in accordance with work orders, drawings, charts and other applicable engineering and production specifications; assure application of latest revisions; may also work from sketches and oral instructions.

  • Perform continuity checks, basic calibrations and other "go, no-go" tests per specified instructions.

  • Remove and replace encapsulations and bonding, as applicable.

  • Visually check completed work against drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and latest revisions.

  • Dimensionally check work utilizing applicable measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, scales.

  • Set up and utilize properly all applicable jigs, fixtures, aids; adapt tooling to new uses or work without tooling as necessary to complete work assignment.

  • Use accurately such hand or power tools as soldering irons, solder suckers, wire strippers, high voltage soldering irons, resistance (module) welders, nut drivers, torque wrenches and microscope.

  • Use iridite touch-up, solvents, degreasers, abrasives and other cleaning agents to clean work prior to solder and assembly as required.

  • Coordinate with engineering relative to prototype or repair problems, as authorized.

  • May be assigned to set up equipment, interpret specifications, train and check accuracy of work of designated employees of lower classification.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience : Previous experience of two years or more in Assembler Production Senior or equivalent. Must have microscope experience.

  • Knowledge : Extensive familiarity with ELDEC assembly, quality and workmanship standards

  • Skills : Manipulative skills, including finger dexterity and adept hand-eye coordination. Accurate color vision and depth perception; and other vision capabilities required by area of assignment. Ability to work satisfactorily on a sustained basis within any physical and environmental requirements applicable to area of assignment, e.g., chemical agents, hot tools or materials, fumes, noise, oily or similar conditions

  • Ability : Ability to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams. Ability to perceive and pre-determine sequence of operations and installation requirements from sketches and oral instructions. Ability to understand oral and written instructions pertaining to work related matters, and to maintain routine records.

  • Employment Eligibility Requirement :Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and not require Visa sponsorship to be eligible. Because we contract with the US Department of Defense we are bound by InternationalTraffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
