Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking to hire a Director of Sales for Modular Power Solutions at our Lynnwood, WA location.

Position Description:

The Director of Sales leads and oversees the implementation of the organization's sales processes, policies, objectives, and initiatives. Sets short and long-term sales strategies and evaluates effectiveness of current sales programs. Recommends product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. Responsible for leading and developing the global sales team and executing all key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans required to achieve financial targets.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and implements strategic sales plan, capture plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.

  • Develops Price to win strategies and value pricing models in collaboration with Product Management

  • Develops and manages sales team operating budgets

  • Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends

  • Ensures effective control of sales results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of sales objectives falls within designated budgets

  • Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts sales strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions

  • Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners

  • Guides preparation of sales activity reports and presents to executive management

  • Directs sales team on Order Booking forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly

  • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations within department

  • Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals, as applicable

  • Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product

  • Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals

  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion

  • Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness

  • May be directly responsible for his/her own set of Key Accounts and related regional channel partners in addition to the above

  • Any other task assigned by supervisor or management

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Experience : 10+ years of proven sales experience, consistently meeting or exceeding targets. Demonstrable experience in developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions. 5+ years experience in leading, developing and coaching a sales team. Experience in the Defense, Space and Aerospace markets – domestic and international.

  • Knowledge : Space, Defense, Aerospace and/or Defense/Space electronics markets; Sales planning and development. Strategic Selling methodologies and principals. Value Pricing models. Experience with CRM software.

  • Skills/Abilities : Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills; Excellent verbal and written communications skills; Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications, especially Excel, Access, PowerPoint, as well as Power BI;Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level; Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close; Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services and position them against competitors.

  • Education/Certification : BA/BS degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications :

  • MBA or Business degree with Engineering or technical background preferred

  • Knowledge of government regulations (FAR, DFARS, NAVSUP, etc.).

  • Understanding of the US Department of Defense procurement processes

  • Knowledge of DC-DC power conversion products and their applications is a plus

Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Working Conditions :

  • Standard office environment

  • Work requires substantial visual concentration on detail

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment

  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE

  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes

  • Requires some travel to support customers meetings, Crane Aerospace & Electronics site visits, conferences, seminars and trade shows

Salary range: $200,449 to $263,556. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.
